The Nightmare Before Christmas!!
Layla enjoyed her first Halloween very much. She got to take a field trip with mommy over to mommy's work. Everyone loved seeing her. And when daddy got home the trick or treating started. We took her around the neighborhood (well...4 houses) so they could all see her pumpkin costume. (Daddy dressed as the mayor of Halloweentown and mommy was Sally...both from Nightmare Before Christmas). Here are some pics of the festivities:

Oh HAIL!

Here is some video from September 28th, 2006. We had our typical Reno weather that day. It was about 80 degrees in the afternoon until 2pm. Then the temperature dipped, some clouds moved in, and we got a nice big hail/rain/thunder storm. Nothing out of the ordinary for here. This was when Layla was regulary taking 3-4 hour naps during the day. Not so much anymore. She slept through the whole thing!! (Near the end of the video you will see a Redtail Hawk taking cover under an eave of the house diagonally behind us.)

Layla has been growing like a sprout. Layla just had her 2 month appointment. She's getting some chubby little drumsticks (her thighs) and she's weighing it at a healthy 10lbs 4oz. (Cassie just had her 5 month appointment - 5 months since we've had her - and she weighed in at 11lbs...so she's still the boss as of now.) Layla is in the 50th percentile for height, weight, and head size. Her eyes are a dark to light blue depending on what time of day it is and how the light hits them. Who knows if this will be her true eye color because they can change all they up to the time they are 1.5 years old. Mom and dad are also doing well...but tired. Very tired.

Hello, everyone. Layla has been doing great the past few weeks. She loves to hang out on her fold out Hippo and laugh for HOURS!! She's also really into her music these days. She can sit and listen to almost anything. Her personal favorites include Frank Sinatra, Dave Matthews, The Muppets, Disney Songs, Cake, and Jack Johnson. She will be heading to her 2 month appointment for immunization shots but says that it shouldn't be a problem. She told us that needles don't bother her...but we think she's just trying to be brave. She also told me to tell everyone that daddy will have to cut out some of his Fantasy Football research so he can get more pics and video up here!!
