You turned my whole world upside down, Layla...

Layla Rosalie Evans' Blog...whatever she wants us to show...we will show!!

Alright...I promised video so here it is. This is a little something I put together tonight but wanted to do so much more. I've decided that I'm going to put together a DVD of her first couple of weeks. This will go to family as I'm sure it will bore the heck out of most of you.

Anyways...this is more of the "teaser" type of video you will see on Layla's blog. Nothing too long and boring...but great stuff in my humble opinion...

Hello again, everyone. Thank you all for the warm wishes. It has been a whirlwind the past 5 days but we are managing. We have a great support system around us. Both of our sets of parents as well as my sister and her family all live in Reno which make things MUCH easier. We had a lot of people come and visit us in the hospital the past 3 days, including Uncle Kevin and Cousins Tyler and Trevor:

And Uncle Joe and Auntie Connie:

Many other family members and friends came to visit us as well...but there are too many pictures to show. Also, when she sleeps...she sleeps like her daddy. (Ironically, I have already slept through quite a few of her screams as I'm sure she has slept through my snoring...so we're even.) Here we are...one small happy family:

Denise is doing better after the C-section but is still sore. She is getting better and will make a full recovery, no doubt. We have our first pediatrician appointment on Tuesday so we will see what Layla's weight is at and where we are with that. By the way...she's a HUGE Giants fan!! Hmmm...do you think it's a coincidence that the Giants are 3-1 since she was born? I think not...

Introducing, Layla Rosalie Evans!! She was born last night, August 23rd, at 10:04pm. Denise had a C-section because Layla just didn't want to come out. Laya weighed in at 6 lbs. 8 ounces and is 19 inches long. Both mom and baby are doing GREAT!! I am home right now just for a quick shower and some food. I thought I would get these pics up here so everyone could see. Denise, Lalya, and I will be home from the hospital in 3-4 days and I will be posting some video of Layla's first few minutes of life. Thank you all for your continued support!

Denise is feeling really good for only being 3 days away from exploding. She was doing stuff around the house all weekend. We even went to a wedding on Saturday and I had to FORCE her to stay in her seat when the music came on!! (Just kidding. Well...just kidding about the dancing. The wedding was real.) Here are some pictures of Layla's bedroom. See if you can tell what her favorite baseball team already is.

And this little sucker has decided that she is going to hang out underneath the crib. We have a pull-out drawer attached to the crib that holds all of the REALLY soft baby blankets. Of course...Cassie thinks it's for cats. Nobody ever accused her of caring.

Only 5 more days until the due date!! Denise's last day is today and she'll be off for 12 weeks. She's dilated to 2cm right now and the doctor feels that she will be having the baby before the due date of Wednesday, August 23rd. We'll see how things go this weekend.

We now feel comfortable enough to reveal her name.

In case you've never seen it...here is her first picture from January of this year:
